RANDALL ELLIOT
About The Artist
Randall Elliot is one of a new breed of artist pushing the boundaries of the acrylic medium today. By both blurring the line between impasto and watercolor effects, as well as using a variety of surfaces from canvas to flannel to paper, Randall is able to achieve exciting abstract images with a vital yet soothing energy that pleases the senses.
The artist builds pieces in stages, creating a textural landscape of color, movement and depth, while still allowing the intriguing color palette and/or underlying layers to be revealed. Randall sometimes infuses, within the pieces, the use of metallic pigments and metal pieces to provide a feeling of richness and dimension.
While actively painting (2002-'12) the Artist was represented by Galleries in
Soho NYC-NY, Boonton New Jersey, and two Galleries in Maine.
The artist was born and raised in Bronxville, New York until 10 years old. When 10, one side of the artist's family moved to Eau Gallie, Florida, The artist's Bachelor of Arts was earned at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and the artist continues to maintain strong connections to the area.
Randall now lives in the Mountain Lakes Area of New Jersey, and has deep roots to Maine as well as Florida. One side of the artist's family was born, raised and continues to reside in Camden, Maine.
Summering in Maine was always looked forward to with anticipation. As an adult the artist tries to get back to the family home in Camden as often as possible - to both recharge and sketch ideas for new paintings.
